What is a lido? It's an outdoor
public area for swimming and
lying in the sun. You can find ours
at the top of Fox Close off Albion
Street. see the map.
The Prime Minister, David Cameron popped in for a cup
of tea and a chat on 2 July.
Our Patron and long-time
supporter visited to see for himself the recently installed
solar-powered, ground-source heating system in operation.
The installation marks the completion of a two-year project
to replace all the plant and equipment, some of which
was 40 years old.
DIP 'n' CHILL
From 1 June to the 7 September, Dip 'n' Chill is FREE for all year 7 to 11 pupils.

The Lido is set to become a leader in innovative green technology
This spring will see the Lido's new Eco-efficient energy
system become fully operational. It is the culmination
of many long months of negotiating, applying to funders
and hard physical work by the small band of volunteers!

shouldn't be a
deterrent as the
water is heated to
a minimum of
28°C, so even in
a traditional British
summer you can
take the plunge
and enjoy a swim.
Fun...
You don't even have to swim! You can
just watch your children or grandchildren swimming
(something you can't do at many indoor pools.)
