The Lido’s Capital Appeal was launched
in 2006 by our patron David Cameron MP. The first initiative
was to offer supporters the chance to buy a new coping stone
and be recognised on a ‘Roll of Honour’ display.
There is much still to do this winter, the Ladies changing
area being next on the list. So your donations are vital and
because we are an official Charity your donations allow us
to claim Gift Aid, an extra 28p for every pound! (

“The Charity's objects are to promote for the benefit
of the inhabitants of Chipping Norton and the surrounding
villages the provision of a lido (open air heated swimming
pool and recreational area) in the interests of social welfare
and with the objects of promoting health to the public at
large through access to healthy recreation and sport education,
and of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants”
Our key objectives in partnership with the key stakeholders
are to:
- Ensure the effective management of the site, assessing
accurate Management Information and using this to look for
innovative ways of raising income, increasing usage and
reducing costs.
- Raise funds for contingency (plant and equipment maintenance,
repair and improvements), and upgrading of the site up to
and beyond the minimum standards
- Promote The Lido by raising awareness of its existence
and improving communications about the pool’s timetable
and other events at The Lido in order to increase usage,
income and therefore viability.
- Define minimum standards for the site in areas of aesth.etics,
health and safety, hygiene, building, maintenance, customer
service and décor
- Engage with the local community of Chipping Norton and
the surrounding villages to find ways to optimise the recreational
usage of the site.
- Continue to research a range of uses for the site and
to prepare an appropriate business case and management scenarios
for optimising use of the site.
